The Nothing Phone 4a was launched on March 5, 2026. The phone comes with a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPS Flexible AMOLED touchscreen display with a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate. It also supports HDR10+ and features a resolution of 1224 x 2720 pixels. The display provides 1.07 billion colors and reaches a massive peak brightness of 4,500 nits.
The Nothing Phone 4a comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor based on a 4 nanometer architecture. The phone runs on an Octa-core processor (1×2.7 GHz Cortex-A720 & 3×2.4 GHz Cortex-A720 & 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A520). This processor is paired with the Adreno 810 GPU, ensuring smooth gaming and day-to-day performance. It is available in 8GB and 12GB LPDDR4X RAM options with up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.
A major highlight is the redesigned Glyph Bar on the rear, consisting of 63 mini-LEDs in 7 square zones, which is 40% brighter than previous generations. The phone features a triple camera setup on the rear: a 50MP (Samsung GN9) OIS primary sensor (f/1.88), a 50MP (Samsung JN5) periscope telephoto sensor (f/2.88) with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS, and an 8MP (Sony IMX355) ultrawide sensor (f/2.2). For selfies, it has a 32MP (Samsung KD1) front camera (f/2.2). It supports 4K video recording and Ultra XDR photography.
Pro and Cons
Pros:
- The 3.5x periscope lens takes surprisingly sharp portraits.
- Screen is incredibly bright, even under direct sunlight.
- Nothing OS 4.1 is clean, fast, and totally bloat-free.
- The new Glyph Bar feels more refined and less “distracting.”
- Good optimization makes the daily experience very smooth.
Cons:
- No charger in the box is a major annoyance at this price.
- While 5,400mAh is okay, rivals are now offering 6,000mAh+ batteries.
- Plastic frame feels a bit “cheap” for a 30k+ phone.
- 8MP ultrawide is pretty average compared to the main sensors.

Conclusion
To be honest, early reactions from tech enthusiasts including me are not happy with the specs at this price point. The design is beautiful and the periscope camera is very flexible; however, when compared to other phones on the market, it has other challenges. Many other manufacturers have far larger batteries (greater than 6,000mAh), faster processors, and faster storage (UFS 4.0), all for the same or less than what they are selling.
This is an excellent option for those who do not care about the specifications or want something aesthetically pleasing in their phones. The Nothing Phone 4a has a very minimalist software interface and versatile cameras, making it a welcome addition to your phone collection.
