iQOO 15 Launch Date Confirmed: Snapdragon 8 Elite Flagship Arrives October 20

After weeks of leaks, teaser posters, and questionable “accidental” Weibo uploads iQOO has finally confirmed what fans have been waiting for. The iQOO 15 series will officially launch on October 20, 2025.

This one’s shaping up to be a monster. We’re talking about the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a custom Q3 gaming chip, and a striking Crimson Red variant that apparently changes tone under sunlight. It looks flashy and bold.

We are unable to discuss opinions or performance at this time because no one has had any hands-on experience. On paper, however, iQOO appears to be subtly working toward something beyond “gaming power.”

iQOO 15: Dual-Chip Setup with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Custom Q3 Processor

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 isn’t news anymore — it’s the chip you’ll see in almost every 2026 flagship. What’s special here is iQOO’s Q3 gaming processor, their third attempt to take some load off the Snapdragon during long play sessions.

It’s a smart move if it works. Early chatter from Chinese tech forums suggests the Q3 might help maintain top frame rates longer than the Galaxy S25 — maybe 15–20 minutes more before the heat catches up.

The challenge? iQOO has never been known for great thermal management. Their phones are fast, yes, but they get toasty. That heat must also go somewhere, as iQOO typically favors thinner constructions over large vapor chambers. Whether this Q3 chip actually controls heat or simply better covers it will be the true test.

iQOO 15: 7,000 mAh Battery and IP69 Rating

A 7,000 mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging sounds like the spec sheet of someone who’s never met physics. Usually, that kind of capacity means a heavy, chunky phone.

But if iQOO pulls it off without crossing the 230-gram mark, it’ll be an engineering win. Even if they don’t, the idea of a gaming phone that can comfortably last two days — or a full day of PUBG without a panic charge — is huge.

There’s a good chance we’ll see some compromise on cooling or thickness, but that’s fine. Nobody’s expecting a featherweight with that kind of juice.

A Design Pivot: From Gamer Vibes to Everyday Premium

The teasers give us four colorways — Crimson Red, Legend White, Wilderness Green, and Racing Black. Gone are the RGB patterns and aggressive lines; iQOO seems to be aiming for something more refined, almost like what OnePlus did with its latest models.

That red finish apparently uses color-shifting materials similar to Oppo’s Reno line. It’s not just for show — it helps with smudges and even heat diffusion. Small touches, but they tell you iQOO’s growing up.

To be honest, you might not be able to tell which is the “gaming” phone right away if you saw one on a desk next to a Vivo X200 Pro, and that’s kind of the goal.

Cameras and Durability: Finally Taking It Seriously

Rumors point to a triple 50MP setup with a periscope telephoto and a 32MP front camera. That puts it right in Galaxy S25 territory.

Historically, iQOO’s cameras have been hit-or-miss — great sensors, but overprocessed colors. The good news is, Vivo’s image team has likely lent a hand here (since they’re under the same parent group). So, we might actually see a big step up this time.

The IP68 and IP69 ratings are also worth noting. IP69 indicates it can survive high-pressure water jets — something even many top-tier flagships skip. Clearly, iQOO wants to prove it’s more than just speed; it’s about staying power.

Where It Might Land in India

iQOO India’s CEO Nipun Marya has already confirmed the Indian variant will have identical specs. The launch should land around mid-November 2025, judging by their usual cycle.

If iQOO sticks to its pricing playbook, expect it somewhere in the ₹59,999 to ₹69,999 range — a sweet spot undercutting the Galaxy S25 but staying toe-to-toe with the OnePlus 13.

And knowing iQOO, launch offers like bundled TWS earbuds or exchange bonuses are almost guaranteed. It’s how they grab attention in the first few weeks.

Bottom Line

The iQOO 15 appears to be an established flagship on paper, with less of a “gaming gimmick” and more well-rounded, high-end technology.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite + Q3 combination screams performance, the 7,000 mAh battery gives you extra time  of playing games and ability to set new endurance records, and the IP69 designation shows true faith in the build quality.

Of course, the big question remains: can iQOO finally nail thermals and camera tuning? Because if they do, this could be one of the best-balanced Android flagships of the year — not just fast, but actually thoughtful.
