The vivo V60 is a released India phone, not a leak. It is aimed at buyers who want portrait photography, a large battery, fast charging and water resistance without moving to a flagship price. The headline specifications are appealing, but the better question is where the phone cuts corners: gaming power, storage speed, wired transfers and the base model’s limited capacity.

This guide focuses on the Indian model and the buying decisions that matter. Prices and offers change, so confirm the live variant on vivo’s official V60 product page before ordering.

vivo V60 price in India: launch price vs current buying price

    • 8GB + 128GB: ₹36,999 at launch. vivo’s current India store lists it at ₹41,999 on the checked product page.
    • 8GB + 256GB: ₹38,999 at launch; vivo India has listed it at ₹43,999 on its official store. The selected SKU was unavailable when the listing was crawled, so check live stock and offers before buying.
    • 12GB + 256GB: ₹40,999 at launch. vivo’s current India store lists it at ₹45,999 on the checked product page.
    • 16GB + 512GB: ₹45,999 at launch. vivo’s current India store lists it at ₹50,999 on the checked comparison page.

vivo announced sales through vivo.com, Flipkart, Amazon and partner retailers from August 19, 2025. The launch prices are useful for historical context, but they should not be treated as today’s street price. As a current reference, vivo India has listed the 8GB + 128GB at ₹41,999, the 8GB + 256GB at ₹43,999, the 12GB + 256GB at ₹45,999 and the 16GB + 512GB at ₹50,999 on its store pages, although individual SKUs can be unavailable. For a 2026 purchase, compare the exact live variant and stock against newer phones before deciding. The 8GB + 256GB version is still the sensible middle ground if its price is close to the base model. These are launch prices, not a promise of today’s street price. The 8GB + 256GB version is the practical sweet spot for most buyers: 128GB can disappear quickly with photos and video, while paying for 16GB RAM makes less sense unless the price gap is unusually small and you plan to keep the phone for years.

vivo V60 specifications at a glance

Feature Indian model What it means
Processor Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, 4nm Upper-mid-range performance, not flagship gaming power
Display 6.77-inch AMOLED, 2392 × 1080, up to 120Hz Large, sharp and smooth for video and everyday use
Rear cameras 50MP main with OIS, 50MP telephoto with OIS, 8MP ultrawide Portrait and zoom flexibility are the main appeal
Front camera 50MP autofocus Useful for group selfies and video calls
Battery 6,500mAh typical, 90W wired charging Strong endurance and quick top-ups, subject to charger and conditions
Software OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 rollout The V60 launched on Funtouch OS 15, but Android 16 / OriginOS 6 is now the relevant software version
Durability IP68 and IP69 ratings Added dust and water protection; not permission to deliberately submerge it
Storage 128GB, 256GB or 512GB No microSD expansion, so choose carefully

The display is good; the 5,000-nit number needs context

The 6.77-inch AMOLED panel is a strong fit for people who read, stream or play on a large screen. Its 2392 × 1080 resolution is marketed as 1.5K, and the 120Hz refresh rate makes scrolling and supported games feel more fluid. vivo also lists up to 1,500 nits of global brightness and a 5,000-nit local peak, so those two figures should not be treated as the same everyday brightness measurement.

vivo quotes a 5,000-nit local peak brightness. That is a limited-area peak figure, not the brightness the entire screen will sustain outdoors. In real use, sunlight visibility depends on the scene, automatic brightness, heat and how much of the panel is bright. The screen is a strength, but the headline number should not be treated as an everyday brightness guarantee.

Performance: fast enough for most people, not a gaming flagship

The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 should handle messaging, navigation, social apps, streaming, photography and multitasking comfortably. It can run modern games, but demanding titles may need reduced graphics settings for stable performance during long sessions. Heat management and software tuning matter once a game runs for an hour; the chipset name alone does not predict sustained performance.

vivo’s RAM expansion feature should not be confused with physical RAM. It uses storage to support memory management, but it does not make the phone equivalent to a model with more real RAM. Independent testing is more useful than a benchmark screenshot when gaming is your priority.

Camera system: the V60’s strongest reason to exist

The camera setup is the V60’s clearest reason to buy it. It combines a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera with OIS, a 50MP Sony IMX882 telephoto with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide. The dedicated telephoto gives portraits and distant subjects a more useful perspective than simply cropping the main camera. The 50MP autofocus front camera also supports 4K video, as do the rear cameras, according to vivo’s current India product information. That makes the V60 more interesting for creators than a typical mid-range phone, although the 8MP ultrawide is still the obvious compromise.

ZEISS branding and portrait modes are not a guarantee of flagship results. Low light, moving subjects, skin tones and higher zoom levels can look very different from the marketing samples. If cameras are your main reason to buy, compare independent photos at the price you will actually pay.

    Battery life and 90W charging

The 6,500mAh typical battery is the V60’s clearest everyday advantage. It should give most users comfortable full-day endurance, with heavier gaming, high brightness, camera use and weak signal still capable of draining it faster.

90W charging makes short top-ups useful. Actual speed depends on battery level, temperature, cable, charger and software protection. Confirm what charger is included in the Indian box; a phone’s maximum charging claim is not the same as guaranteed in-box accessories.

    Software, storage and connectivity trade-offs

The V60 launched with Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15, but that is no longer the current software story. vivo’s India community announced the Android 16-based OriginOS 6 rollout for the V60, and vivo’s security page currently lists the V60 among models receiving monthly security updates. Check Settings → System Update before buying or after setup because rollout and patch timing can vary by region and device batch. The hardware still uses UFS 2.2 storage, has no expandable storage, supports dual 5G standby, NFC and Bluetooth 5.4, and uses USB-C with USB 2.0 speeds.

The USB-C port is USB 2.0, not USB 3. That is fine for charging and occasional file transfers, but large video libraries will move more slowly than they would over a faster standard. This is an easy compromise to miss when the rest of the specification sheet looks premium.

What the vivo V60 does not do especially well

    • It is not a flagship gaming phone.
    • UFS 2.2 storage is slower than the fastest premium phones.
    • USB 2.0 limits wired transfer speeds.
    • The 8MP ultrawide is less impressive than the two 50MP cameras.
    • The base 128GB model may feel restrictive without expandable storage.
    • Manufacturer camera, brightness and battery claims still need independent testing.

Is the vivo V60 worth buying?

Buy it if your priorities are portrait photography, a large battery, quick charging and strong water resistance. In October 2026, the V60 needs a different value argument than it did at launch: vivo now sells newer V70 models in India, including the V70 at ₹59,999 and the V70 FE at ₹49,999 on its current store. The V70 has a newer design and 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, while the V60 can make more sense when its lower price or larger 6.77-inch display and camera-focused feature set are what you actually want. For the V60 itself, 8GB + 256GB remains the safer choice than 128GB because storage is not expandable.

Look elsewhere if maximum gaming performance, clean software, expandable storage or fast wired file transfers matter more than cameras and endurance. Also compare the current V60 price with newer phones and discounted flagships; a good launch specification can become less attractive when the market moves on.
